Thank you Toronto shutterbugs for participating in the City's "Building a great city - together" photo contest. We asked for powerful images that evoke Toronto's spirit, energy and unique character,and did you ever deliver!

We received more than 4,100 photo submissions from 720 photographers.

Winning photos and those that received honourable mention can be viewed on the Flickr website.

Our judges selected winners from the impressive selection of submissions. All photographers of winning photos or photos that received honourable mention have been contacted.

• Entries will be evaluated based on content, image quality, creativity, uniqueness, relevance to the contest theme and category and overall visual appeal. A panel of three people will judge the entries and all judges’ decisions are final.
• Judges will select a first place (best overall), second place, third place and fourth place photo for each of the contest categories. These photos will be the winning entries.
• If fewer than 10 eligible photos are entered in a category, the City of Toronto may choose to select only a first place winner or may cancel that category.
• Up to 10 eligible photos may be selected to receive honourable mention in each category.
