 |
For seniors experiencing difficulty with daily living activities, the Home Adaptations for Seniors' Independence (HASI) program provides financial assistance of up to $3,500 to homeowners or landlords for minor home adaptations.
Funding can be used for items such as extra hallway or stairway handrails, louder doorbells, lever-handles on doors and faucets, grab bars in the washroom, or brighter lighting in hallways, stairs and kitchens.
Residents interested in major modifications for accessibility could consider RRAP Modifications for Persons with Disabilities (RRAP-D). Please note that RRAP and HASI funding cannot be combined.
