Celebrating World Habitat Day in Toronto
The City of Toronto and Habitat for Humanity Toronto celebrated World Habitat Day with a flag-raising and proclamation event at City Hall.
The United Nations has designated the first Monday in October as World Habitat Day to focus attention on the state of human settlements and the basic right to adequate shelter for all. The theme of this year’s World Habitat Day is Better City, Better Life, which highlights our collective vision of a sustainable urban world that provides a home for people of all social, cultural, ethnic and economic divides.
