These records illustrates the work, design inspiration, and financial dealings of metalworker Emile Wenger, from the 1920s until his death in the 1970s. Wenger was associated with a number of prominent Toronto architectural firms, providing work for the Concourse Building and the Claridge Apartments, as well as a number of local churches, and residences in Forest Hill and Rosedale. |
The records include photographs Wenger took of each piece he created; photographs of others’ work, used as a design resource; a scrapbook containing clippings of trees, flowers, and other natural forms Wenger used as inspiration; a small library of product catalogues, trade publications, and catalogues from other metal fabrication companies; templates and other drawings used by Wenger in his work; and financial records. These records were discovered during renovations of Wenger’s workshop building. Fonds 103. |
