When the six municipal and one regional government in Toronto were amalgamated in 1998, the new Council's headquarters became Toronto City Hall.

These photographs by award-winning artist, curator, writer, and teacher Vid Ingelevics, document the city halls of the seven eliminated governments, as well as renovations to the second floor and council chamber of Toronto City Hall, which were made to accommodate the change.

Vid Ingelevics' work was then displayed in a 1999 solo exhibition, 7:1, at Toronto City Hall; installation photographs of the exhibit are also part of this fonds. Fonds 118.
