Buildings - Honourable Mention

Ideal CondominiumsIdeal Condominiums
Address: 457-471 College St.
Architect/Urban Designer: Architects Alliance
Owner/Developer: Context Development

Pat Bollenberghe
The building and streetscape make an appropriate fit where one supports the other. The setback provides a comfortable boulevard dimension to create spaces where landscape treatment and new sitting areas have been created and well executed. This results in very satisfying new and successful urban space along College Street.

Alex Krieger
Very skillfully accommodating a seven-story building into a context that includes even single-family homes. Very skillful also in adding on to an older building by combining/transforming/modifying its traditional architectural language with a more contemporary aesthetic. Another very impressive example (for this Bostonian) of the Toronto urban loft-housing model.
