Regent Park South Splash PoolRegent Park South Splash Pool
Address: southeast corner of Dundas Street East and Regent Street
Landscape Architect: PMA Landscape Architects
Owner/Developer: City of Toronto

Pat Bollenberghe
I liked the way the landscape architect went beyond traditional boundaries to explore an inventive approach to play, working with industrial design and technology to achieve a simple yet wonderful moment of anticipation with water as the vehicle.

Alex Krieger
Most children's playgrounds are fairly ordinary environments, filled with equipment ordered from manufacturer's catalogues. That's not necessarily bad, just uninspiring. Anything that brings out as much anticipation and delight among kids as the photographs of the Splash Pad in action demonstrated, deserves to be highlighted in a City-sponsored urban design awards program.

Lisa Rochon
A cleverly designed water gizmo but no substitute for teaching kids how to swim in publicly funded pools.
