Having walked the University of Toronto campus several times, we applaud the University for commissioning a master plan that would unify the campus through a comprehensive landscape strategy. The campus presently exemplifies the "romantic" tradition of landscape and buildings set within an urban context. The plan, if realized, will strengthen this important dichotomy.

Larry Beasley
It is wonderful to see strong landscaping used as a primary strategy to tie the campus together, emphasizing important small spaces without denying the essential urban setting of the place. The evocative collection of historic buildings will be enhanced through the new landscaping. However, it is essential that the detailed designs, as they come forward over time, realize the quality suggested by this matter plan.

David Oleson
This project points out the importance of the "left over" spaces in an urban campus, and sets in place a flexible framework for individual elaboration on a project-by-project basis.

Donna Hinde
A very long overdue project to guide the long-term redevelopment of weary open spaces on the St. George Street campus. The project sets a clear vision, design principles and framework for implementation to finally invest in the landscape in a way that should be demanded by this university. Well illustrated, organized and written. Other institutions must follow suit. Excellent piece of work!
