Riverside BIAEstablished as a BIA in 1980.

Having been off the radar screen for some time, the restaurants and retailers in this emerging neighbourhood are finally getting some much-deserved attention, from a write up in Toronto Life to a full-page article in the New York Times (Post). Riverside District has been described as the SOHO of Toronto.

Located along Queen Street East, east of the Don Valley Parkway and just minutes from the downtown core Riverside is easily accessible by streetcar. On-street parking is available and a Green P parking lot is situated just north of Queen Street on Broadview Avenue.

With the support and encouragement of the active local business community, many restorations, revitalization and beautification projects have occurred over the last few years, attracting creative industries such as art, film, and design in and around the business area. Its commitment to art and design is evident by the mural depicting a flowing river and the life it supports, to the public art installations by Eldon Garnet, and its annual signature event, the Riverdale Art Walk, which takes place each spring and showcases the work of local artists.
