During their meeting on July 20, City Council paid tribute to the nominees of the 2005 Toronto Book Awards. Mayor David Miller presented each author with a commemorative scroll. The winner will be announced on September 7.

They are the authors of The Heiress vs. The Establishment: Mrs. Campbell's Campaign for Legal Justice (UBC Press).	David Bezmozgis was nominated for Natasha and Other Stories (HarperCollins Publishers).
Shaughnessy Bishop-Stall is the author of Down to This: Squalor and Splendour in a Big-city Shantytown (Random House Canada).	Don Coles is the author of Doctor Bloom's Story (Alfred A. Knopf Canada).
