  Toronto Labour Force Readiness Plan

The Toronto Labour Force Readiness Plan is comprised of the reports listed below, most of which were published in 2003. These reports offered in-depth analyses of labour force needs in the Toronto region to 2010. The first study of its kind to examine labour force supply and demand at the city-region scale, the Toronto Labour Force Readiness Plan was presented to Toronto City Council on July 22, 23, and 24, 2003.

The reports recognized that in today’s global economy, economic growth is driven by knowledge, skills, innovation and entrepreneurship. At the source of all of these attributes are people. Preparing, retaining and attracting a labour force with the skills necessary for success in the knowledge economy is critical to the economic and social health of the City.

The reports are offered as Adobe Acrobat PDF documents in both screen and print optimized versions. The screen optimized versions, suitable for both screen viewing and medium quality printing, download quickly because of their relatively smaller size. The print optimized versions provide improved text and image resolution for high quality and pre-press printing.

New reports will be added as they become available.

You will need the latest version of the free Adobe Acrobat reader to view the PDF files.
