The City's Corporate Access and Privacy (CAP) Office has developed
an Access and Privacy Manual (PDF) for staff to use when the CAP Office requests
them to respond to public requests for access to records.
The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy
Act (MFIPPA) requires the City to respond to public requests for
access to City information in a timely fashion. This manual outlines the
MFIPPA requirements and explains the role of City staff --
especially staff who have been assigned as Access Liaison Officers,
who are the main contacts working with CAP on behalf of each
division in responding to public access requests.
