Toronto's Children's Agenda

The City's children's agenda is guided by Toronto's Vision for Children:
'Regardless of the socio-economic status of his/her family and community, every child has the right to childhood experiences which promote the chances of developing into a healthy, well-adjusted and productive adult.' -adopted by Toronto City Council, 1999

The Vision sets the foundation for the development of City plans, reports, policies, programs, projects and strategies that impact children, including:

The Children's Services Advisory Committee was established in 2006 to advise Council on policies, programs, strategies and actions to achieve a comprehensive system of integrated, inclusive and high quality services to support the best outcomes for Toronto's children. The committee has representatives from City divisions, school boards, and community agencies that serve children, and is chaired by Councillor Janet Davis, the Council Lead for Children.
