Food used as a reward or punishment
Some conversations and interactions occur during meal and/or snack times
Meal and/or snack times are viewed as educational experiences and a time for socialization and conversation
Individual children's needs are met during meal times
Adults sit with children and serve food at the table during mealtimes as much as possible
Children are encouraged to eat food, but are never forced
Children are encouraged to taste and try new foods
