Early Learning
The Early Learning Program (ELP) is a Ministry of Education initiative that provides a full day early learning experience for 4 and 5 year olds. The program will be led by certified teachers and registered early childhood educators. The ELP will be phased in over five years.

Parents may also choose the option of paying for an extended day before and after school. Financial assistance (fee subsidy) may be available.

The City is working closely with the Province and school boards on implementing the ELP while promoting the broader vision for Early Learning and Care outlined in Charles Pascal’s report, With Our Best Future in Mind - Implementing Early Learning in Ontario / Notre meilleur avenir - L'apprentissage des jeunes enfants en Ontario .
