Service Contract for Fee Subsidy
Many child
care centres and home care agencies in Toronto have a Service
contract with the City of Toronto to provide child care to families
receiving fee subsidy.
A service
contract for fee subsidy is available to not for profit agencies that are financially viable, meet the standards set out
in the Toronto Operating Criteria and meet the age and geographic equity principles outlined in
the Toronto Child Care
Service Plan. Agencies
that meet this criteria and are interested in applying for a service
contract must submit a written request outlining the location
of the centre, the number and ages of the children served and
confirming nonprofit status. All requests must be sent to:

A service contract with the City of Toronto will not be approved
until all financial and operating
requirements are met. Any financial responsibility the agency
undertakes is at their own risk and the City takes no responsibility
for any financial investment the agency makes prior to entering
into a contract.
Operators
with a fee subsidy contract will find the operator guide helpful in understanding their administrative
roles and responsibilities.
- Operators must submit accurate information
to the City of Toronto about the daily attendance of subsidized
children in their program.
- Regular communication between the operator and the Children's
Services Caseworker regarding enrolment changes and physical vacancies
will ensure current and accurate attendance records and will allow
timely payments to the operator.
