Toronto Report Card on Children

Volume 3 Update 2000
The Children and Youth Action Committee (CYAC) released the final edition of the Toronto Report card on Children Update 2000 on March 30, 2001. The Report Card is intended to fulfill several functions:

to track changes in the condition of children since the 1999 Report Card on Children;

to measure progress in improving the situation of children;

to help build public awareness and understanding of the needs of children;

to serve as a planning tool for service providers and elected officials so that they can make decisions about the allocation of resources; and

to act as a stimulus for political and community action to improve the situation of children.

The Children and Youth Action Committee has developed an ACTION PLAN (pdf file 3.6 MB, 37pages) in response to the Report Card's findings. This Action Plan identifies areas for investment, service coordination and advocacy.
