Accessing the supports of a Special Needs Resource Staff
Every licensed child care centre and home child care agency in Toronto has an assigned Special Needs Resource Staff who is available to provide your program with support. If you don't know who this person is, search for your centre on our A to Z index and here you will find the name and phone number for the Special Needs Resource Staff that is assigned to your program.
These specially trained staff can provide:
- Service coordination and referral
- staff, provider and parent training
- program consultation
- individual consultation
- early identification and intervention
- program adaptations and environmental assessments
- regular visits to programs
- enhanced staffing/intensive resource support, when needed.
City wide training
A range of training opportunities is offered by community agencies across Toronto. Training is intended for early childhood professionals to support the inclusion of all children in licensed child care programs.
