Once you have started receiving your child care fee subsidy, there are some important things to know. Our booklet: Child Care Fee Subsidy: what you should know will explain your responsibilities and what you can expect from Children's Services. |

| To maintain your subsidy you must: |
 |
Pay your fees to the child care program:
- You are responsible for paying the child care program directly.
- You must pay your fee for the days your child is absent from the program including vacation, illness, and all statutory holidays.
- If you have questions about your fee or if you think the bill is not correct, contact your caseworker immediately.
- You must pay your fees on time.
- You must pay all fees before withdrawing or transferring to another program.
- If there is a change in your fee, you must pay the new fee.
- If it is determined that you received a child care subsidy that you were not entitled to, you must repay the funds paid on your behalf.

File an income tax return each year |

Respond to all letters and submit information by the deadline |

Attend an annual in-person meeting and bring all required documentation |

Report any changes in your status including :
- employment or school
- maternity or paternity leave
- marital status
- address
- phone number
Important: call your caseworker to report a change to your income only if you receive:
A Revised Canada Child Tax Benefit or Ontario Child Benefit statement, where the Family Income shown is more than the amount indicated on your previous statement.
or
A Notice of Reassessment from Canada Revenue Agency where the amount of income on line 236 is more than the amount of your previous assessment. |
While receiving child care fee subsidy, your caseworker will work with you to make sure you get the service and supports you need. If you still have unanswered questions, please contact your caseworker.
