The City Clerk's Office is the foundation of local government in Toronto. We:
- Elect government by ensuring elections readiness and managing elections operations
- Make government work by managing government decision-making, supporting elected and accountability officials, providing ceremonial and official event services and delivering provincially delegated services.
- Promote open government by managing and storing records, enabling corporate information stewardship, and delivering creative, printing and distribution services.

City Clerk's Office Proud Recipient of Two City Manager's Awards
On July 5, 2012, City Manager Joe Pennachetti announced the recipients of the 2012 City Manager's Awards. The City Clerk's Office was the proud recipient of two awards. The Elections Accessibility Plan received the award in the Human Rights, Access and Equity category. The Open Data initiative, was named winner in the Cross-corporate Project category. Both projects demonstrated the high degree of professionalism and leadership of City Clerk's Office staff and the collaborative partnership with multiple City divisions.
