Bathurst Wilson Mural Project

Location: Wilson Ave. & Bathurst St.

Project Description: Started in 2005, this mural design, based on George Serrat’s “A Day in the Park”, together with additional park enhancements, has transformed a large retaining wall into a significant neighbourhood feature.

Ian Leventhal, a member of the Mayor’s Roundtable on a Beautiful City, painted the original mural.

In 2006, the popular mural was extended to 660 feet and was launched at Art in the Park in June.

In 2007, lights were installed so the mural can be enjoyed into the nighttime.

Project Partners:

  • Benjamin Moore
  • Ministry of Transportation
  • Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation
  • Toronto Transportation
  • Services
  • Goodbye Graffiti
  • Home Depot

Impact: Public enjoyment of the adjacent park was enhanced by the painting of the mural and was extended into the night by the installation of strategic lighting.
