Toronto Seniors' Task Force (completed)
The Seniors' Task Force, comprised of seven members of Toronto City Council and 17 citizens, submitted its final report in September 1999.

Purpose
To advise the Mayor and City Council on the following:
- a civic strategy that will engage seniors in the actions and investments of Council and the Mayor with respect to policies, programs and services to support the quality of life for seniors in the City of Toronto;
- working with other levels of government, non-profit organizations and the community to facilitate and enhance co-ordination and integration of services for seniors; and
- Providing a vehicle for engagement of seniors in issues such as health, long term care, affordable housing, transportation and access to services; to raise the public profile on issues related to seniors.
Composition and Membership
The roundtable will be composed of up to 20 members including the Mayor and up to four members of Council; the remaining members will be representative of senior levels of government (elected and/or senior staff representatives from provincial and federal governments), the seniors service sector, and citizen members drawn from the Toronto Seniors Cabinet. The membership should reflect the diversity of Toronto's population.
Term
The roundtable will be established for the 2003-2006 term of Council and concluded at the end of term.
