New sign-in procedure for visiting councillors' office areas
To enhance security and life safety, beginning on May 3, 2010, new sign-in procedures for visiting councillors' offices at City Hall, North York Civic Centre and Scarborough Civic Centre will take effect for the public and City staff who do not have card access to these areas. More information
City of Toronto City - Wide Corporate Security Policy
At the April 2009 City Council meeting, the City of Toronto City-Wide Corporate Security Policy was adopted.
provide and highlight the Corporate Security framework;
outline the roles and responsibilities of City employees in keeping City assets secure;
emphasize security policies and the responsibilities of various staff;
highlight additional policies that relate to security;
highlight relevant legislation and its effect on security at City facilities; and
provide statements on civilian oversight, independent complaints process, access and equity hiring and training, and environmental design measure.
Toronto Security Video Surveillance Policy
At the July 2006 City Council meeting, the Toronto Security Video Surveillance Policy was adopted. This policy addresses key requirements of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and provides guidelines and protocols governing video surveillance.
