The Task Force on Community Access and Equity has not completed its mandate but is no longer active. The following information is provided for archival purposes.
The Task Force on Community Access and Equity was absorbed by the Roundtable on Access, Equity and Human Rights.
Materials and figures contained in the final report and executive summary do not reflect 2001 Census data.
The 2001 Census data states that:
– 43 per cent is the reported level of racial minorities resident in Canada.
– 49 per cent is the reported level of Toronto residents who were born outside of Canada.

The Task Force on Community Access and Equity, comprised of five City Councillors and representatives of certain stakeholder groups, was established by Toronto City Council on March 4, 1998.
The goal of the task force was to develop an Action Plan and Final Recommendations to provide the policy and program framework for implementing access and equity in the City of Toronto. |
On the recommendation of the task force, Council established five community advisory committees. The final report of the Task Force on Community Access and Equity was approved by Toronto City Council in December, 1999.
