Celebrate 27 Arts Fest launch event
Celebrate 27 Arts Fest was launched on Thursday, March 31 at the Allen Lambert Galleria, Brookfield Place, with an action-packed evening of performances by vocalist Tanika Charles, drumming by Samba Kidz, tunes by DJ L'Oquenz and Gadfly's innovative urban dance. Event attendees drew on an interactive arts wall and viewed an exhibition of photography: Toronto/Milano: The Urban Experience, featuring the work of acclaimed photographer Michael Awad and four youth (Gabriella Abis, Julia Soudat, Mapela Uhindu-Gingala, Hawa Yusuf) who were part of a creative apprenticeship for almost a year. The City of Toronto Cultural Services - Arts Services announced 12 Cultural Champions that have been selected by local arts organizations from across the city.
