Kids CAN-BIKE and the Bicycle Safety Partnership
The CAN-BIKE Program is working with the Toronto Bicycle Safety Partnership, to provide a fully subsidized one-week daycamp experience for children ages 9 - 13 who are under-resourced. The Toronto Bicycle Safety Partnership, is a group of community agencies and sponsors, who are working with the City of Toronto to help youths access this valuable life skill, and experience safe cycling as a form of recreation, transportation and healthy living.
Learn from the best
CAN-BIKE is the only accredited course of its kind. Courses are taught exclusively by instructors certified by the CAN-BIKE program. Instructors are knowledgeable about the Highway Traffic Act and teach cycling skills such as anticipating traffic dynamics, recognizing road hazards, and collision-avoidance techniques. Our most advanced course, CAN-BIKE 2, is required training for many people who cycle on the job. In fact, all Toronto Police bicycle patrol officers are required to take CAN-BIKE 2.
CAN-BIKE 2 Training for Your Workplace or Organization
If you are required to ride your bike to perform work duties then your employer is responsible for providing the appropriate safety training. CAN-BIKE is the only recognized safe cycling course that fills this requirement. Read all about the
certification process here. See also how you can become the official CAN-BIKE instructor for your organization! As an instructor you can also teach public courses in the spring, summer and fall months at $16.69 - $22.64/hr!
