Ride your Bike to Work - Monday May 30
On Monday May 30, 2011 municipalities across Ontario are coordinating events to celebrate Bike to Work Day. Join in by riding in Toronto's Group Commute to City Hall and get a free t-shirt, and a pancake breakfast while supplies last.
Check out the interactive google map for this ride, to find a start point near you. City start points leave at 7am, so that the ride arrives on Nathan Philips Square by 8 am. Pancakes will be served on the square between 8 am and 9 am. |

Tour de Dufflet Dates throughout Bike Month
Eat More Cake - Ride More Bike!
The 4th annual Tour de Dufflet will run daily (except Mondays) throughout Bike Month from May 24 - June 30. Get a little exercise (and something sweet) by cycling to all 3 Dufflet locations in one day.
Registered participants will receive a souvenir, refreshments and other goodies with their stamped TdD passport. The $5 registration fee will be donated to a cycling charity.

Toronto Island Tour of Trees Saturday June 11
The Toronto Island Tree festival features a guided cycling tour of Toronto Island trees. The tour begins at 10:15 a.m. at Centre Island Dock on the Island (The Boat to Centre Island leaves the city at 10:00 a.m.)The cycling tour is approximately 5 km of gentle cycling - no hills!
City Staff, industry representatives and community tree enthusiasts will present various Island trees and give detailed attributes and features about the various species.
After the tour at 12:30 pm the gates open at the Franklin Children's Garden for the Annual Trees Festival. This event includes children's entertainment, climbing displays, tree art and more. |

East York History Society Ride Saturday June 11
Join Ward 29 Bikes and the East York Historical Society for a cycling tour of some of Ward 29's historic sites. Discover the Taylors and Playters, explore the villages of Todmorden and Chester, and learn about the history of East York and area while riding with your whole family. |

Tour de Forts Saturday June 18
Bicycling is a unique and exciting way to view Toronto's history. Between 1 and 2:30 PM, Fort York will host its Annual Tour de Forts as part of Bike Month. Beginning at the Old Mill Subway Station, we will start by riding to Teiagon, the site of the 17th Century Seneca Village. Following the Humber Bike Trails, we will stop and explore the sites of Toronto's first two French forts. Continuing along the Martin Goodman Trail, we will end our tour at Fort Rouille, the site of Toronto's last and largest French Fort. |

Bells on Bloor Saturday June 18
Anyone, and everyone from all ages are welcome to join this big ride on Bloor Street, meeting at noon at High Park. This is a slower paced ride with police escort to help get us get to Queen's Park. The ride route runs along the Bloor subway if the kid(s) are too tired to bike back.
If you can't make it out to High Park, consider waiting along Bloor and joining the ride en route. Collecting points will include Dundas St. W, SE corner, Dufferin and Bloor, and at Christie Pits.

Bike the New Finch Hydro Corridor Trail Saturday June 4
Join the North York Cycling and Pedestrian Committee for a ride on this new section of Trail in Toronto's North End. Snacks will be provided and there will also be a raffle for a $50 gift certificate from Cyclepath. |

Ride with the Toronto Bicycling Network Throughout Bike Month
The Toronto Bicycling Network is Toronto's largest recreational cycling club. Members also pride themselves as being Toronto's friendliest group, so don't be shy, discover some new routes. Join one of over a dozen group rides across the City that will be taking place throughout Bike Month. There's no fee and no registration, just show up with your bike. |

Regent Park Bike Wash and Ride Sunday June 5
The folks at Charlie's Bike Shop want to show you what we've been up to! We invite you to come down to the shop to get your bike washed, participate in our youth-lead workshops on bike related topics and join us on a neighbourhood ride through Moss Park, Regent Park and the surrounding areas then winding down with a post-ride BBQ. Charlie’s Freewheels is a program of StepStones for youth. It offers training in basic bicycle maintenance and repair as well as recreational and career development opportunities for youth aged 14 to 19 from the Regent Park community in Toronto. |

ZM Downtown Criterium Bike Race Sunday May 29
The Criterium has returned for another great year to the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood, thanks to ZM Cycle and Fitness . The event will take place from 8 am – 12 noon. The course will be the same as in past years, a 1 km long from Front St. down to the Esplanade with 4 sharp corners. The downhill and up-hill sections make this race technically challenging, and the long flat stretch promises an exciting sprint finish. Roads will be closed to set up the course staring at 4 am and will remain closed until 4 pm for teardown. Learn more. |

Bikes and Books first two weekends of June
The Toronto Cyclist's Union is partnering with theToronto Public Library to present a series of free bike maintenance clinics. Bring a friend for this opportunity to learn bike maintenance basics, and check out the bike repair books you can borrow from your library.
This series will be available at eight locations across the City. The west end events will take place the weekend of June 4, and the East End events will take place the weekend of June 11. |

Bike Pirates Sweets for Cycles - Saturday June 4
Come out to the Bike Pirate's annual Donate a Bike event - with a twist! Bring in your old, neglected, well-loved or outgrown bicycle to donate to Bike Pirates and we will reward you with sweets! At this non-profit community space your old bike will get a new life either by being built by a community member, or being refurbished for sale by our volunteers.
We accept bicycles any time all year round, but only on THIS DAY will you get cookies for your kindness!

Culture Link Bike Maintenance Workshop Saturday June 4
Many bike repairs are easy to do with some basic tools. Join us for this free workshop to learn how to adjust or replace brake pads, to clean and replace the chain, patch an inner tube and change a tire.
Culture link is a not-for-profit community-based organization that facilitates the settlement of newcomers to Toronto.

ArtBike by Clay and Paper Theatre Saturday June 11
Clay and Paper Theatre and Cyclops; a Cycling Oriented Puppet Squad are pleased to invite members of the public to join us in two afternoons of bicycle decoration. June 11 and 18, 1pm - 4pm, at the field house in Dufferin Grove Park.
From simply adding a flag or flowers to your basket, to building a bicycle float on your bike trailer, we will innovate ways to make your bike stand out amongst the crowds of boring brand names and beaters. Some materials will be provided, but do bring your own! Participants are also invited to ride in our Bicycle Parade during the Day of Delight, on June 19. Please register your participation. |
