The Coldest Day of the Year Ride
For 2012 Bike Winter is being organised by the Cycle Toronto. Activities include the Coldest Day of The Year Ride and a photo exhibit. For information on Bike Winter 2012 please visit the Cycle Toronto's site.

Fact: Many cities have higher volumes of cycle commuters who continue riding through winter than Toronto. They have more year-round riders despite factors such as colder weather, wind or levels of precipitation. Learn more about cold weather riding.

Bicycle Friendly Business Awards
The City of Toronto has honoured a number of businesses for their bicycle friendliness with the 2011 Bicycle Friendly Business Awards.

The awards presentation, which took place at the Gladstone Hotel, paid tribute to businesses and organizations that demonstrate leadership in encouraging cycling by employees and/or customers.  By doing so, these businesses are helping to promote the bicycle as a sustainable form of transportation.
Sustainable Trail building
The City of Toronto's Sustainable Trails Initiative works with the International Mountain biking Association (IMBA) to engineer and build trails, which allow for maximum enjoyment of Toronto’s wild spaces without environmental degradation. Bixi Toronto Launch
The City of Toronto and the Public Bike System Company launched the BIXI Toronto program on May 3, 2011 in Toronto's downtown core. More information about the program is available at https://toronto.bixi.com.

Bike Month Events may be submit to the City's Festivals and Events Calendar.  Browse Bike Month events, or register an event you are planning online.

You can also browse community-run event calendars such as Bikeevents or bikingtoronto to stay up to date on the many fun activities taking place around the City.
Think Bike Workshops
In partnership with the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the City of Toronto hosted Dutch bicycle planners as part of an event to study downtown Toronto's bikeway network.

The teams examined two Toronto study areas, to develop recommendations to improve cycling. Toronto's Sherbourne Street Corridor was studied by Team Orange, while Team Blue worked to Develop the Bikeway Network in the Downtown Core. Learn more.
