|
The City of Toronto's comprehensive bicycle parking programs are intended to provide public bicycle parking facilities at destinations that are regularly frequented by cyclists. Post and ring bicycle stands are installed on street for 'short term' parking, while bicycle lockers and the bicycle station are designed for 'long term', recurring bicycle parking needs.

Toronto Bicycle Parking Stations
Bicycle parking stations are secure, indoor bicycle parking facilities. Secure indoor bike parking facilities can help to protect your property from theft and vandalism. Bike Parking Stations are usually located at locations which maximize the opportunity for cyclists to use their bikes with Transit. Good bike parking is important when being left at transit stations because bikes often stay parked in one place for long periods of time. The first bicycle parking station in Toronto was built at Toronto's Union Station.

Bicycle lockers
Bicycle lockers provide excellent, secure bicycle parking by improving protection from theft, vandalism and inclement weather. The lockers are designed to hold one bicycle each as well as bicycle gear such as panniers, locks, lights, etc. Lockers are available for $10 + HST a month for a minimum of 4 months. Find out more information about the program and fill out an application form for your own bicycle locker here.

Guidelines for the Design and Management of Bicycle Parking Facilities
These guidelines provide specific information that planners, developers and property managers can use to improve the quality of bicycle parking that is secured through the City's development approval process. The guidelines will help new developments meet Official Plan policies and environmental targets of the Toronto Green Development Standard.
