So you've learned to swim already, and you're bored of floating in the pool or doing repetitive lengths of the pool. Why not try something new? Toronto offers a wide array of swimming activities which push you out of your confort zone and allow you to experience the water from another point of view. Take a stab at sychronized swimming if you're musically-inclined, or try out some competitive swimming if you like competition. Get out there and have fun!

Adult Swim: Swim Fit

A program that promotes and encourages fitness through the sport of swimming to improve swimming ability through stroke improvement, distance and interval drills.

Prerequisite: Must be 17+ years old and able to swim two lengths of the pool (50 metres) continuously.

Challenge Swim: Bronze

First level of the Challenge Swim program which focuses on an introduction to backstroke starts and somersaults for flip turns. Development of interval training and swimming drills to improve fitness and endurance (200m continuous swim) in a non-competitive environment. Swimmers are challenged to improve their own personal swim times and skill.

Prerequisite: Successful completion or skill ability equal to Ultra Swim 7.

Challenge Swim: Gold

Third level of the Challenge Swim program which focuses on an introduction to relay starts. Development of interval training and swimming drills to improve fitness and endurance (500m continuous swim) in a non-competitive environment. Swimmers are challenged to improve their own personal swim times and skill.

Prerequisite: Successful completion or skill ability equal to Ultra Swim 7 or Challenge Silver.

Challenge Swim: Silver

Second level of the Challenge Swim program which focuses on an introduction to relay dynamics and breaststroke and butterfly starts. Development of flip turns, stroke turns, interval training and swimming drills to improve fitness and endurance (400m continuous swim) in a non-competitive environment. . Swimmers are challenged to improve their own personal swim times and skill.

Prerequisite: Successful completion or skill ability equal to Ultra Swim 7 or Challenge Bronze.

Stroke Improvement - Child

A program that allows swimmers to work on stroke correction and improving technique through drills and progressions focused on front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke and breaststroke.

Prerequisite: Minimum of 7 years old and successful completion or skill ability equal to Ultra Swim 5.

Stroke Improvement - Small Group

A program that allows swimmers to work on stroke correction and improving technique through drills and progressions focused on front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke and breaststroke. Class size limited to 4 participants

Prerequisite: Minimum of 7 years old and successful completion or skill ability equal to Ultra Swim 5.

Class size limited to 4 participants.
