Voters

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) has requested the City Clerk to conduct a by-election to fill vacancies in the office of Trustee, Toronto District School Board Ward 17 - Don Valley East (City wards 33 and 34), (PDFs), and Trustee, Toronto District School Board Ward 20 - Scarborough-Agincourt (City wards 39 and 40) (PDFs), which are seats vacated by Trustee Michael Coteau and Soo Wong, respectively. Both individuals were elected as Members of the Legislative Assembly in the recent provincial election on October 6, 2011.

You can vote in this by-election if you:

  • are a public school supporter; and
  • are a Canadian Citizen; and
  • are at least 18 years old; and
  • live in TDSB ward 17 or 20 (City wards 33, 34, 39, 40) (PDFs); or
  • do not live in the City of Toronto but you or your spouse own or rent residential property in TDSB ward 17 or 20; and
  • not prohibited from voting under any law

Note:

  • A person is not eligible to vote in this by-election if the person could not vote for this office if a regular election was held on the day of the by-election.
  • You may only vote once in this by-election.
  • An owner or tenant of commercial/industrial property (or their spouse) is not eligible to vote in this by-election.

Voters' list

It's important that you are on the voters' list:

  1. Call 416-338-1111 to find out if you are on the voters' list.
  2. If you are not on the list or if there are changes needed to your entry, simply complete a Voters' List Amendment Application (PDF).
    Note: This form can be mailed to you upon request.
  3. Once completed you can mail the form along with a photocopy of your acceptable identifcation to us, or visit one of the following City Clerk's Offices in person Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with your acceptable identifcation by February 17.

You can still vote even if you are not on the voters' list. Go to your voting place on any of the voting days with acceptable identifcation and you can be added to the voters' list.
