Last Day to apply to the Court for a filing extension

This is the last day a candidate may apply to the Ontario Court of Justice to have their financial filing deadline extended for a maximum of 90 days.

Deadline for Filing of Financial Statements
- 2 p.m. SHARP

This is the final date by which all nominated candidates must file their financial statement. The statement covers the period from the day the candidate filed their nomination paper until December 31, 2010. The candidate must notify the City Clerk, in writing, of the Court extension by 2 p.m. on the filing date. Penalties commence at 2:01 p.m.

Notice of Default

All candidates who did not file the required financial statement will be sent a Notice of Default, by registered mail, outlining the penalties.

Extension of Campaign Period - Reporting Period

Candidates who extended their campaign to erase a deficit are responsible for filing a supplementary financial filing. This filing covers the day the candidate filed their nomination paper until June 30, 2011.

First Batch of Rebate Cheques mailed during the first week of September

Rebate cheques will be mailed the first week of September to eligible contributors who:

• Made contribution(s) on or before December 31, 2010 and
• Submitted their rebate application(s) by August 19, 2011

This is the last day a candidate may apply to the Ontario Court of Justice to have their financial filing deadline extended to a maximum of 90 days. Candidates must notify the City Clerk before 2 p.m. of their intension to apply to the Ontario Court of Justice for an extension. Penalties commence at 2:01 p.m.

Deadline for Supplementary Financial Filing
- 2 p.m. SHARP

Financial statements cover the campaign period from the day the candidate filed their nomination paper until June 30, 2011. Penalties commence at 2:01 p.m.

Deadline for Contribution Rebate Applications

All candidates should encourage their contributors to mail in the rebate forms as soon as they receive them. This is the final date by which contributors can file their rebate application for any contributions made to Council candidates in the 2010 election.
