The Toronto Fire Services Career Awareness Program offers an Introduction to Firefighting Course designed for persons 18 years of age and older.
The course provides a basic level of understanding and awareness of firefighting knowledge and practical skills with emphasis on the Operations Firefighter career. Participants are introduced to emergency medical procedures, fire apparatus operations, firefighting equipment and their applications.
This introductory course is 12 weeks in length (one night per week for 3 hrs) and is comprised of in-class lectures with one practical day held on a Saturday at one of the City of Toronto’s training centres.
Training is delivered by Professional Firefighters who bring a wealth of experience and expertise into the classroom.

Fee: the course fee is $270 (incl. HST.) Course fees are due with the submission of your Registration Form.
All courses are delivered at the Toronto Fire Services, Special Operations Training Centre, 200 Bermondsey Road, south of Eglinton Avenue East and east of the Don Valley Parkway.
