Toronto must do an environmental study (Environmental Assessment or EA) to decide a plan for managing its garbage (residual solid waste). According to procedures set out in the provincial Environmental Assessment Act, public consultation sessions will be conducted for interested stakeholders to provide City staff and citizen members of CEAT (Community Environmental Assessment Team) with public input on the Terms of Reference (ToR) that forms the framework for the actual EA. Stakeholder comments will be considered when completing the Proposed Terms of Reference.
City staff and CEAT recommendations on the Proposed Terms of Reference will be submitted to the City of Toronto Public Works and Infrastructure Committee (target meeting May 30, 2007). The report will be posted on this page once it is available.
