Recycling
-
Place recyclables in recycling bins located in the Recycling Area in your buillding. What goes in recycling? (PDF) This information card is also available in: Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, French, Greek, Gujarati, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Urdu, Ukranian, Vietnamese and Yiddish.
Please note: New items added in 2008 (foam polystyrene and plastic grocery and retail bags) do not appear on these versions. These cards will be updated at a future date. You'll

Computers
- An old working computer may be donated to a charity. Check our REUSE site!
- Computers may be dropped off at several of our depots. Check the Drop-Off Depot Chart.
- Computers or related components are limited to 3 units per drop off.
- NO TVs, Stereos, VCRs, photocopiers or microwaves.
Renovation waste
- Some renovation material may still be useful! Check our REUSE site!
Used tires
- Rubber tires (rims removed), excluding heavy truck, forklift and large off-road tires are accepted at our several of our depots. Large quantities accepted at Dufferin Transfer Station only. Other locations accept loads up to 150 kg. Check the Drop-Off Depot Chart.
- There is a charge for loads over 150 kg.
Household Hazardous Waste
- Household hazardous waste (syringes, medications, household cleaners, paint, pesticides, batteries…) can be dropped off at several of our depots. Check the Drop-Off Depot Chart
- If you have more than 10 litres of household hazardous waste, call 311 to make an appointment for Toxics Taxi pick-up from your home.

Reusable goods
- Do you have old clothes, furniture, computers, fixtures, toys, books that you don’t want anymore? Check our REUSE site for a list of charities that would benefit from these items.
- You may also purchase used building materials such as kitchen cupboards, bathroom fixtures, used doors and more from organizations that specialize in reuse.
