Information for Property Managers

What can a 3Rs Ambassador Volunteer do for your building?
The primary goal of this program is to promote the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) and to help keep waste from going to landfill. By having a 3Rs Ambassador in your building you can expect to see many positive outcomes. Your building’s volunteer, working in consultation with you, will tailor an education campaign to suit your building and its residents. The program is entirely flexible to meet your building’s needs.

Lower your solid waste rates
If your building already has a successful recycling program, your 3Rs Ambassador Volunteer may choose to focus on the first R (Reduce). Or your volunteer could organize clothing drives and donate all unwanted clothing items. By diverting more materials from garbage, your 3Rs Ambassador Volunteer can help lower your building’s solid waste costs.

Strong communities and sense of ownership
Organizing a lobby display or something larger like a “reuse-it” craft night will give residents an opportunity to get to know their neighbours. Building a stronger community, residents will work together as a group to divert more waste from landfill.
