Electronics Collection – Expanded service

Front End (Containerized) collection customers: E-box

The City will help you in your efforts to increase recycling at your building by providing free electronic waste containers (E-boxes) for use in a centralized area of the building accessible to residents.

The E-box should be used to collect small electronic items, such as: cell phones, pagers, radios, cameras, video recorders, computer cables and accessories. Portable and laptop computers, keyboards, VCRs and DVD players may also be put in the E-boxes, as long as the total weight of the box does not exceed 20kg.

A letter (PDF) on how to order the E-box has been sent to all containerized customers. Some restrictions apply.

Curbside serviced collection customers: E-bag

The City, in collaboration with the Ontario Electronics Stewardship (OES), will help you in your efforts to increase recycling at your building by providing a free plastic electronic waste bag (E-bag) for residents. E-bags can be used to collect small electronic items such as cell phones, pagers, radios, cameras, video recorders, computer cables and accessories, and can easily be brought to the building’s collection point.

Both the E-bags and the larger electronic items should be put out beside the garbage bin(s) on the building’s regular garbage collection day.

A letter (PDF) on how to order E-bags for residents in building has been sent to all curbside serviced collection customers. Some restrictions apply.
