Solid Waste Management Services has developed the Waste Diversion Handbook (PDF) to help you:

Superintendent Handbook

  • Understand the billing system, called the Solid Waste Management Fee.

  • Control waste management costs at your building, and comply with:

    • The City of Toronto's bylaw requiring multi-residential buildings to participate fully in the City's recycling program; and

    • The Ministry of the Environment's legislation concerning recycling.

  • Set up and maintain an efficient and effective recycling program in your building.
