On April 25, hundreds of people — including the award finalists, judges, sponsors, City Councillors and members of the public — gathered to celebrate the greening of Toronto at the City's fourth annual environmental awards of excellence.
Mayor Miller and Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone announced the 2008 Green Toronto Award Winners, and the Award of Excellence recipients, to the enthusiastic crowd at the Direct Energy Centre at Exhibition Place—a venue well-known for its environmental achievements. Musical performances by local singer/songwriters Justin Rutledge and Julie Crochetiere added an air of celebration to the night.
