Community Projects
2009 winner Roscoe Handford donated to Not Far From The Tree, Artscape, Catalyst Centre Popular Education Foundation and The STOP.
These organizations used the money to expand their programs, purchase tents for the farmer’s market at Wychwood Barns and fund an art installation.
Energy Conservation
2009 winner Enbridge Gas Distribution donated to The Gatehouse.
The Gatehouse used the money to continue work in their group adult support program.
Environmental Awareness
2009 winner Green Thumbs Growing Kids used the money to help support their summer program which connects people of all ages in school gardens.
Green Design
2009 winner The Now House Project Inc donated to Homes First Foundation.
Homes First Foundation used the money to continue developing and providing affordable, stable housing and support services to break the cycle of homelessness.
Green Roof
2009 winner Mahogany Management donated the money to Regeneration House and Support Services.
Regeneration House and Support Services used the money to enhance the green space at their buildings by creating vegetable gardens and forming a Greening Group responsible for maintaining these green spaces.
Leadership
2009 winner Enermodal Engineering donated to Evergreen.
Evergreen used the money to expand their on-the-ground projects, creating and maintaining green spaces in the GTA and naturalizing hundreds of school grounds and home landscapes in the city.
Market Transformation
2009 winner Deborah Doncaster donated to The Children's Storefront.
The Children's Storefront will use the money to create a new community space for families to come together.
Water Efficiency
2009 winner Campbell Company of Canada donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank.
The Daily Bread Food Bank used the money to purchase a new shed and garden supplies for its’ community garden.
Youth
2009 winner Kipling C.I.’s EcoTeam used the money to green their school grounds by purchasing native shrubs and creating seating for outdoor classroom opportunities.
