Harbourfront Centre is an innovative non-profit cultural organization that provides world-renowned programming in the arts, education and recreation. The Centre focuses its activities in a collection of unique venues centred on John and York Quays, a 4 Ha (10 acre) site under long-term lease from the City of Toronto.
Harbourfront Centre has recently completed a Master Planning and design process to enhance existing cultural facilities on John and York Quays, as well as develop new venues, squares and water's edge promenades.

The west side of John Quay faces Simcoe Street Slip, and includes a small parkette with art installations, as well as parking lot primarily used by boaters and the Police Marine Unit. This portion of the Quay is focused on the many nautical activities associated with Simcoe Street Slip, and forms part of the Nautical Centre with Queens Quay Yachting. The existing park will remain within Harbourfront Centre's new Master Plan.
The Radisson Hotel is found to the north of the slip, surrounded by a City-owned public right of way (Robertson Crescent).
The eastern portion of John Quay includes a collection of pier buildings owned by the City of Toronto. The structures feature a wide range of nautical, commercial, and restaurant uses.
