Completed as an interim park improvement over an existing parking lot (asphalt is likely still there) in the mid 1990's, this 3,601 square metre (0.9 acre) park parcel includes a section of the Martin Goodman
Trail that connects the Fort York/Coronation Park area with the Harbourfront parks and open space system to the east.
To the north, the parks and open space system surrounding Fort York forms a significant part of the City's waterfront revitalization strategy. As the birthplace of the City, Fort York is a National Historic site, and Toronto's most significant heritage resource.
The neighbourhood in and around the Fort York area is undergoing significant growth. One of the first developments within the area (WaterPark City) includes 1,568 units.
At the northern boundary of Stadium Road North is the eleven storey Tip Top Tailors Building, one of Toronto's most significant Art Deco structures. It is in the process of being converted to a 243 unit loft development. It is expected that this park site will be rethought within the context of the adjacent development.
To the south of this park, a section of the Water's Edge Promenade has recently been constructed along the Mooring Basin and adjacent to a new condominium development. This promenade serves to connect the Stadium Road North park to Stadium Road South park.

The site affords fantastic views to the adjacent Mooring Basin and associated boating activities. Revisiting the design of this site will likely involve, among other things, identifying opportunities to improve the physical and interpretative connections between Harbourfront and the Fort York area. From a parks planning perspective, there is also a desire to investigate how this site might be designed to better serve the needs of the Bathurst Community immediately surrounding it.
