Save Energy

The Ontario EcoSchools program includes climate change education materials and guides to help school boards "green" their facilities and operation practices.

20/20 extends the "energy conservation" component of EcoSchools into homes of students by inviting families to participate in the energy savings activities outlined in the 20/20 EcoSchools Planner.

Register your classroom for the 20/20 EcoSchools program
Teachers in the City of Toronto can register their classroom for the 20/20 EcoSchools program and order free hard copies of the 20/20 EcoSchools Planner by calling 416-392-4882 or sending an email to 2020@toronto.ca. It is recommended that participating schools register early as incentives are limited.

Page 3 of the Teacher's Guide provides the seven steps to participating in the 20/20 program. It is important that teachers review this page before registering their classrooms.

Program incentives for participating schools in the City of Toronto include:
  • Pizza lunch prize draw for classroom
  • Opportunity to win a "clean air" presentation by a Clean Air Champion (National or Olympic athlete)
  • Colourful child-focused classroom poster with stickers
