You may have to leave your home, if told by emergency workers or your local officials

Evacuation plan

It's important to know how to get out of your home quickly. Every family member should know what to do in case they need to escape from your home (PDF), or if emergency workers or local officials tell you to evacuate.

Evacuation
If emergency staff and/or local authorities tell to you leave your home:
  • Remain calm
  • Follow instructions of emergency staff and authorities
  • Take your family basic survival kit and first aid kit with you, along with anything else that emergency officials tell you to bring
  • If you have pets, take your pet's survival kit with you.
