  • Dental and oral health
  • Risk factors including knowledge, attitudes and behaviours
  • Environmental health risks
  • Demographic, socio-economic and other social determinant data

Why is this important?
Our work contributes to:

  • Our understanding of the determinants of health
  • The development and/or adjustment of policies and programs to manage health risks and improve health outcomes

Our core functions include:
  • Identifying population health status information needs.
  • Analyzing population health status data using relevant epidemiological measurements and indicators.
  • Monitoring trends in health & health determinants and identifying emerging issues.
  • Developing and reporting health status indicators and related population health status information using appropriate graphical representation and technology.
  • Upholding standards, including quality assurance methods to ensure that population health status information is accurate, timely, meaningful, relevant and accessible.
  • Integrating health status information, planning and performance measurement processes.
