Medical Officer of Health Toronto Public Health (TPH) is committed to working in collaboration with the media to promote and protect the health of the residents of the City of Toronto. Media Relations is a vital component of TPH's outreach to residents and we welcome media enquiries on a wide range of public health issues.

TPH is committed to transparency and accountability, and can organize media interviews with experienced staff.

We will do our best to provide you with:

  • Details on Toronto Public Health programs and services

After hours: For urgent issues call 3-1-1, and ask for the TPH Communications person to be contacted. The on-call TPH Communications staff will call you back.
  • Clearly identify your topic of interest, contact information and deadline.
  • To ensure our spokes people are adequately prepared, you may be asked to provide questions in advance.

Sign up to receive City e-mail updates on news releases, media advisories, emergencies and major incidents, and cycling information.

If your issue is not directly related to Toronto Public Health, contact another City of Toronto Division.

Resources for the Media Journalism students
We are pleased to help journalism students with school projects but due to the high number of media calls we receive, we ask that you email your request to rgovani@toronto.ca. Please be sure to include your contact information, your deadline and your proposed questions.
