Making Toronto the healthiest city possible
The good health of a community's population is worth celebrating. Since the appointment of the first Medical Officer of Health in 1883, Toronto Public Health has maintained a strong commitment to keep people healthy by preventing the spread of disease, protecting against injury and illness, and
advocating for social conditions that improve health. |
Achievements in public health have provided the foundation for the dynamic evolution of our city and continue to inspire our efforts to overcome health inequalities while improving the health status of everyone. We appreciate the excellent work and support of our many community partners in helping us make Toronto as healthy as possible.
Our vision is a healthy City where all people enjoy the highest level of health and well being.
Dr. David McKeown
Medical Officer of Health
