MOHLTC Novel Coronavirus (nCoV-EMC) Update
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) has updated its Important Health Notice for health workers and health-sector employers regarding Novel Coronavirus in English and French.
Please be reminded that all clients/patients/residents who present at a health care setting should be assessed for symptoms of acute respiratory infection. Refer to Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee's (PIDAC) Practices for Prevention of Transmission of Acute Respiratory Infection In All Health Care Settings (PDF) for more information.
MOHLTC Avian Influenza A(H7N9) Update

Toronto Unvaccinated (PDF)
A recent Toronto Public Health report titled Toronto Unvaccinated: the Impact of Vaccination on the City's Health (PDF) looks at the risk of infection if childhood immunization rates drop. Three diseases polio, measles, and whooping cough (pertussis) were chosen to illustrate this risk.
Free Quit Smoking Kit
Toronto Public Health launched its Take Care campaign to support Torontonians to quit smoking. Your clients can receive support to help get started and to request a free quit kit. Brief counselling from TPH nursing staff is also available by calling 416-338-7600.
