In the coming weeks, TTC buses and subways will display posters (PDF) promoting the enhanced 18-month well-baby visit. Physicians and Nurse Practitioners in Toronto may see an increase in the number of families requesting an enhanced 18-month well-baby visit. Please visit the Toronto Early Childhood and Family Resource System for posters that you can display in your offices and for Toronto specific information and referral sources for children. Alcohol-risk awareness survey for health professionals

Take a 15-minute survey, conducted by Toronto Cancer Prevention Coalition in partnership with Toronto Public Health and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, to determine the level of awareness of alcohol as a risk factor for injuries, cancer and chronic disease among health and health care professionals in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

Every time you immunize a school-aged child, tell parents to report it

Each year, hundreds of Toronto students are suspended due to an incomplete immunization record. They may be immunized but the information has not been reported. Remind parents to report each vaccine their school-aged child has received to Toronto Public Health.

Lift the Lip: Detecting Early Childhood Tooth Decay

Toronto Public Health is encouraging general practitioners and pediatricians to use Lift the Lip to help detect early childhood tooth decay and refer patients aged 0-17 for treatment. If the family does not have insurance or cannot afford dental care, they may still get free dental services for their child through Toronto Public Health.
