"Step Inside" Public Awareness Campaign
Toronto Public Health launched a new campaign to increase awareness of the final phase of the No Smoking By-law. Bars, billiards and bingo halls, casinos and the racetrack go smoke-free on June 1, 2004. The "Step Inside" message invites the public to visit Toronto's smoke-free establishments. Newspaper and magazine ads, transit and subway posters, electronic billboards, web site updates, news releases and a variety of activities and events have kept the public fully informed about the by-law. Ads were translated into 17 languages.
